The Lebanese Ice Hockey Federation obtains its official Accreditation status from the Lebanese Ministry of Youth and Sports

Montreal, November 22, 2018 – The Lebanese Ice Hockey Federation (LIHF) is proud to announce today that it has obtained its official accreditation status from the Lebanese Ministry of Youth and Sports. Through this official government decree, any ice hockey player of Lebanese descent may now participate in matches with the Lebanese National team while also continuing their development and participation to their university, club or school team.

This accreditation paves the way for the LIHF to become a part of the Lebanese Olympic Committee as well as becoming a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), both of which would allow the teams to participate in officially-sanctioned international matches.

“We are honoured to be recognized by the Lebanese government as an official, accredited Federation. This is the culmination of a long period of work by our team and is a sign that the Lebanese government recognizes the need for an organization that would bring together Lebanese players, fans and supporters of Ice Hockey from all over the world” said Charles El Mir, President of the LIHF.

The LIHF is the only internationally-recognized Ice Hockey entity representing the Lebanese community, both in Lebanon and in diaspora worldwide and the only one whose mission is to foster the development and growth of the players of Lebanese descent.

Players who wish to participate in international tournaments with their national team can contact the LIHF through its website at Families, fans and supporters can follow the LIHF on social media as follows: on Facebook at: , on Instagram at: and on Twitter at: to find how to attend upcoming matches in various locations in Canada and in Lebanon.
